Proud to be an American

As we celebrated Memorial Day I want to honor all those that have served our country. Monday was Memorial Day and we had a family work day at my house putting in trenches for sprinklers. While doing this we saw several jets flying by. It was quite the show and I did not even have to leave my front yard.  I have always loved this song, Proud to be an American from Lee Green Wood. Take a look at a video with this song from you tube Proud to be an American..

Our sponsor this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday is Meljen's Designs. I loved this patriotic bear.

Spring Flowers

Don't you just love it when we get spring flowers? I have some peonies the front of my house and  it is my very first flower in bloom. The blossom is just so pretty. There will be 3 or 4 more in bloom in a few days. I usually water my flowers with a hose and not a watering can. I loved this adorable image of this girl watering her flowers in her garden. Tammy at  A Day for a Daisies  is our sponsor this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Hope you will go over to Tammy's Store and check out her adorable images. Then head over to my Sweet Sketch Wednesday  and play along. Tammy is giving away a  $12 Gift Certificate to ADFD Shop
to my winner.

A DAY FOR DAISIES provides themed categories of over 1000 fun and whimsical digital images, including fairy tales and magical mermaids, cutie kids, vintage illustrations, sentiments and lovely designs for all occasions!

Well I hope you enjoyed seeing my cards this week. It's always so much fun to create with Tammy's images. Have a sweet day everyone!!! Hugs

Just Buggin Along

Well I finally did it. I have been telling you I was going to add vinyl to my car . It's  all finished except for adding my on the back. I love how it turned out. The only bad thing is that my husband is now stuck driving my car to work with flowers on it. He is a mechanic at a mine so you can only know what all the guys are probably thinking.

Sally Ann of  Digi Stamp Boutique had the perfect image to go along with my bug this week. I knew I must use it to go with my post. Some time when putting things in the bug you feel that crowded that you would love to put things in top of the bug. But it also surprising how much stuff you can really pack into that small bug. Sally Ann is giving away 6 free digi images to our winner. Be sure to go over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and check us out and play along. Sally Ann has some adorable new digis you could go check out. You just may want to get this adorable  VW BUG digi.

I'm giving my prize away at Sweet Sketch Wednesday today. If you placed an order for my sweet SweetPursenality party you may be the winner. So head on over to Sweet Shetch Wednesday to find out.
Well hope you'll will bug on back again next time. It's always so fun to get your sweet comments. Have a sweet day!!!  HUGS

The Old Chair

We are thrilled to have with us Deidre Mosher Designs, formerly Shirley's 2 Girls. Deidre is offering a $10 gift certificate to our grand prize winner at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. So be sure and play along.

Allow me to introduce you to Deidre, and here's a little bit about her:
"I have been in the business of art for over 25+ years. Starting out as a fashion illustrator, moving into Art Direction, where I did everything from print to TV...and eventually I found my way back to illustration. My art is just plain fun and my love of color is clearly evident in the designs I create. I'm currently licensed with a variety of designs are used on craft products, greeting cards/paper products, kitchenware, business products and such.
I am first and foremost an...Illustrator and Designer. I am inspired by seriously sassy & bold colors, but also love the 'wow factor' of classic black and white designs. I'm crazy for stripes and dots, and they are a repeated theme in my work.
As an Illustrator, I work in many mediums and styles, ranging from the line art to pastels...having fun adapting them to the latest project. I am inspired by some my favorite artists ...Matisse's use of bold color, Klimt's knowledge of figures and lavish attention to detail, and Gauguin's wild approach to his subjects. They are all so 'awe inspiring'! I'm happiest when I am in my studio and starting a new project...making a mess, experimenting...and even throwing paint.
Any day in the studio is a great day!

I usually get an idea when I least expect when the 'light bulb' goes off...I sketch and sketch and sketch...(hence the reason I buy tracing paper in bulk). I always begin with a pencil and paper, and it evolves from there. My favorite part of the process?? EVERYTHING...from beginning to end.

When I saw this image from Deidre I knew I must do that one. It reminded me of my dad's farm and the old house. I remember seeing an old chair just like that at the farm. The chair was not as shinny and brand new as this one is. There would have been some rust on it and it had been well used. I asked Judi and she seemed to think it was a chair that my mom and dad had. Oh those precious memories of going to the farm and my dad being there.  He is truly loved and missed.

I added crystal effects to my chair but it didnt really show up in the picture. Had fun picking out my papers, ribbon and embellishments.

Well it's late here. Just got back for doing a Miche Party. The hostess did really well. She is way excited because she will get free products. Don't forget I am giving a prize away for my Sweet Sketch Wednesday party. All the details are on this week post at Sweet Sketch Wednesday on ways to earn raffle tickets. The orginal post is May 2.  So be sure and join in the fun. Have a sweet day!!! Hugs
