Sweet Tikki Bird Sings Hello

Well, it is Sweet Sketch Wednesday today. I hope you run over to my sketch blog and check out all of the fun there. We are singing the Sweet Sketch Wednesday song over there. So why don't you come and join in. While you are at it, check out all of the Design Team members' fun blogs. I couldn't do it without them.

This week I was inspired to use a bird set that I found with lots of different birds. From the moment I saw this bird it reminded me of when I went to Disneyland when I was 14 years old. I had never been to Disneyland before and have only been once since then. My favorite main attraction was the Tikki Room. I love the song and the room was so tropical and fun. You can view the video on you-tube here. Hope you enjoy my card I had so much fun making it and remembering my fun times at Disneyland. I used a sponge dauber to get that added color on the bird's chest.

Supplies:

Stamps: TCP Studio Whimsical Birds

Paper: Die cuts with a View Paper Stack, Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White SU
Ink: Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry
Embellishments: Ribbon, Martha Stewart Punch, Rhinestones

Baby Blankets for my SWEET Grandbabies
Well, I had a bunch of fabric I needed to get made into baby blankets. I did several in one day and then yesterday I finished up four more.

A great way to finish off the edge is to serge around them. Take two piece and put them wrong sides together. Curve the edges and the serge around the edge. My girls love them for recieving blankets.I have a daughter-in-law who is soon to have a baby and some of these will go to her. They are so fun to make and so fast. I made a total of eleven.
Yesterday I even made a cute pink one like the blue moon one . Only the fabric was pink. My neighbor is having a girl so I couldn't leave her out. Hope you're having a sweet relaxful Sunday. Thanks for all the sweet comments and for all who have played along at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Thank You So Much
A couple of weeks ago when my daughter baby was born I went to Heartland paper to pass so time away till the baby was born. They were doing make and takes. I proceeded to do the make and take and while i was in the middle of doing it I got the call saying the baby was born. I was so excited I hurried and put the thank you so much on it with out thinking. The only problem was that you were to cut out around the shape . It was just a square shape and also only had that green strip. So being the creative person that I am I came home and made it my card.

I added the lace border, rhinestones, and the cute flower. Also I trimmed the thanks so much in that cute paper. For a fairly simple card I think it turned out darling.

The paper is Basic Grey and is a new line Pink Lemonade. It a must have paper. So pretty all those colors. If you just making cards one sheet of each goes a long ways. Hope you have a refreshing pink lemonade today!!! Sounds good on a hot summer day. So SWEET!!!
