In a few days we will be celebrating the 4th of July. I wanted to create a card for this occasion. As I was looking to find new sponsors I came across a sight named Sassy Cheryl's . She has the sweetest images. Judi and I fell in love with them. So we decided to each buy an image to make a card.
I wasn't sure what I was going to do for a sketch so I started from scratch as if I were designing it on the computer for Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I wanted to use my new deckle nestie that I bought about a month ago. I also bought a new Cuttlebug embossing plate with the stars. It was so much fun seeing how this embossed. The stars are just so fun.
I have fond memories as a child celebrating the fourth of July with my family. Our Bountiful park always had consession stands there. Before going to the park we watched a parade. I also continued my celebrations at the same park as my children grew up. When the childern were older we would go to the junior high school on the hill and take a picnic and watch the fireworks. I will always cherish those sweet memories.
I am very thankful for my freedoms and for a God who watches over us and our country. I hope you will all have a enjoyable 4th and celebrate it with the ones you cherish and love.
This is simply Gorgeous!!! Love how you added the litlle gems to the middle of the embossed stars! I love Sassy Cheryl's images and I too used this image for a card that will be posted tomorrow on my blog.

Oh, Arlana, this is gorgeous! I love the star embossing folder...going to have to get that one. Your sketch and image are so wonderful! Thanks for reminding me of some very fond memories. I cherish those times together that we had with our family. I am especially grateful for the freedoms that we enjoy in this great country and for the sacrific so many have made to preserve those freedoms. My God always bless this great land!
ReplyDeleteWow Arlana it's fabulous! I love the star embossing. Must keep an eye out for that one here. Would love a great patriotic holiday like that here in Ireland, we have St. Patrick's Day but the US even do that better than us. :-D
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this. Great coloring, papers and I love the antique look. Great card.
